Typology: Holiday Residence

Client: Private

Location: Gerani, Greece

Status: Completed, 2018

These two holiday residences with an area of 170sq.m each are designed to capture the beauty of their natural surroundings with their long orthogonal volumes. They are oriented parallel to the sea to make the most of the views. Each house is a three bed two storey building.

The design encouraged the idea of creating low energy buildings by the use of photovoltaic systems on the pitched roofs, which will generate enough energy to meet the electrical needs of the residences.

The monolithic forms are constructed from exposed concrete and partially cladded in stone panels. The ground floor hosts an open plan area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a study room are on the upper floor.

The main dining area is arranged along the pool deck with large expanses of glazing. The double height living area allows ample light into the space through the windows.

White walls and ceilings dominate the colour palette of the residences, while the bathrooms walls and fittings have been covered with grey coloured plaster.
